Surveillance equipments are a wide range of equipments used to observe
what people are doing , either openly or secretly. Though many people
think of surveillance equipment as being in the realm of spying, their
primary function is to maintain the security of a place. The most common
surveillance equipment which we can see today is the simple
closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera. These cameras can be seen in
banks, football stadiums, many stores, shopping malls etc. Binoculars or
fingerprinting devices are analog devices which were previously
described as surveillance equipments. The simplest form of surveillance
equipment is surveillance cameras for their easy affordability and
handling.
Types Of Surveillance Equipment
Biometric equipment
Biometric
equipment is the more advanced form of surveillance equipment. This
equipment looks at specific characteristics of a person to identify
them. Fingerprint scanners and retinal scanners are two good examples of
these equipments. More advanced scanners can analyze the pace of a
person when they are walking or can track their voices as they speak in
order to identify them. Although some of these systems, such as
fingerprint scanners are open others such as gait analyzers remains
hidden.
Aerial surveillance equipment
Another
form of advanced surveillance equipment is aerial surveillance
equipment which has seen a huge boom in the last few years, as prices
have come down and the efficiency has become more advanced. Small
objects can be tracked on ground through lasers, cameras and infrared
scanners attached to the drones.
Global positioning devices
Global
positioning devices are another form of surveillance equipment which is
increasingly used as they have become tinier. RFID tags and GPS devices
can track the movement of a vehicle or a person when they are secretly
attached.
Non-conventional surveillance equipments
As
the importance of the Internet has increased along with data mining and
snooping, surveillance has also become an important part of it. Data
can be captured at various points on the information path through
equipments. For example, the computer can be attached to tinier objects
through USB port to track every keystroke that is sent to the remote
computer and can be retrieved later on. Packets that are sent or
received can also be captured through devices attached to the network
cable without bothering about the security of the cable.
Binoculars and telescopes do not fall under the category of surveillance equipment
as they use older analog technology. They are a low-tech form of
equipment that are used to see people from distances and are easily
available to the common public.
Surveillance equipments are easily
available on the internet. You just need to read through the utility of
the equipments available and order it.
